Amari Cooper Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors
Doing research for my fantasy football four factors analysis of Amari Cooper, something stood out to me. Amari Cooper has been one of the healthiest players I remember in the NFL. He has played in at least 14 games every year of his career and has missed only 4 games over 8 seasons.
Our consistency metric, though, is built on two factors. Sure, availability is one of them. The fact that Amari Cooper is rarely hurt is why his consistency score is as high as it is. He does have a bit of a boom/bust problem, though. Last year he had multiple 4 point duds and multiple multi-score games. This can be a bit undesirable, but in the long run it is OK. It is something to be aware of. He gets a 6.5/10 consistency score.
The pedigree for Amari Cooper is quite good too. In the 5 seasons he has played every game, he has eclipsed 1,000 yards in all of those seasons. His last year in Dallas was only OK, but last year in Cleveland he put up 1160 yards and 9 scores on nearly 80 catches. This was good for a WR8 finish and headlines his 8/10 pedigree score.
Amari Cooper’s trend score is a 5/10. As I mentioned above, nobody has had more consistent production in the NFL than Cooper. He has only had really one below expectation season. You’re going to get what you get, and the 5/10 trend score is reflective of that.
Finally, Amari Cooper gets an 8/10 in the expert consensus rankings. This is actually quite a bit higher than a lot of guys who are drafted around the same range. We also think this is roughly the right score looking at his 8/10 pedigree and 5/10 trend score which indicate “more of the same”. Amari Cooper might be getting pretty underdrafted this year.
Amari Cooper Stats Analysis
The biggest question mark for Amari Cooper is Deshaun Watson. Deshaun looked pretty bad when he took the field last year and really took some time getting his feet under him. Amari Cooper did have a 22 point standard scoring performance the second last week in the season. This is an indication of some chemistry and production.
If Deshaun does return even close to his pre-scandal form, then Cooper might have a really nice season. He is the clear WR1 on this offense and as Deshaun goes, so too will Cooper.
