James Conner Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors
James Conner has been an extremely interesting player. In his second year in Pittsburgh, he exploded when given the opportunity to perform. Since then he hasn’t looked back, he just hasn’t been able to stay healthy. He hasn’t been able to stay healthy for a full season yet.
While he hasn’t stayed healthy, he has been a bell-cow for the games he has been on the field. His heavy usage rate has led to his 7/10 consistency score.
James Conner also has an 8.5/10 pedigree score which is reflective of his extremely good 2021 season. In that season he scored 18 touchdowns en route to having the fifth most fantasy points per game. Last year he was a bit back from there as his touchdowns regressed, but still quite good.
James Conner’s trend score is also positive. The beginning to his season last year was really quite poor with consecutive single digit performances. But at the end of the season last year, he came on strong and delivered consecutive respectable fantasy performances.
The experts have James Conner at a 6/10 consensus score which is right around mid to back end RB2. If he stays healthy, he is likely to significantly over perform this level. Even if he plays a majority of the games, there is still some potential value here.
James Conner Stats Analysis
In a vacuum, James Conner’s consensus score doesn’t really make sense. He has a positive trend, is very consistent, an his pedigree is outstanding. Typically stats like these would lead to a consensus score above the pedigree score.
When this is not the case, there must be a reason. But to me, the only explanation is that everyone expects the Cardinals to be terrible. But they were also terrible last year and James Conner…wasn’t. He finished as the RB19 last year while missing 3 games.HIs PPG was 11th. I think there is a chance James Conner is being under drafted.
