Keenan Allen Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors

When I think of veteran wide receivers who have been fantasy relevant their whole career, I think of Keenan Allen. Outside of years 2-4 where he was plagued by injuries, Keenan Allen has been a monster at getting 1,000 yard season. He also scores quite a few touchdowns as well.

His pedigree score is hurt by this last season though. Allen had trouble staying on the field and only managed a paltry WR40ish finish. The year before, though, he pulled out a strong WR15 finish which is much more representative of his skillset. Overall, he earns a 5/10 pedigree score over his last two years.

Keenan Allen has also been above average in consistency the last two years. He missed 7 games over two years which is neither good nor particularly bad. But when he does play, he has consistent performance. He always puts up yards and is involved in the offense. This gives him a 6/10 consistency score.

His trend score has actually been positive despite the regression from WR15 to WR40. Our trend metric only looks at games played, not at time missed. On a per game basis, Keenan Allen was better last year than in 2021! Especially so at the end of the year. So, while I think it unlikely he is getting better at his age, this is a strong sign he isn’t getting worse.

The experts think that Keenen Allen is worthy of a 7.5/10 expert consensus score, A large part of this is the correction to his pedigree due to missing time last year. A bigger part of it is an overall trust that experts have in that offense. There should be plenty of yards and touchdowns to go around.

Keenan Allen Stats Analysis

The good news for Keenan Allen is that Justin Herbert got a big extension this year. So, while Herbert had a bit of a down year last season, he is still a good quarterback with a great arm. This means he will find Keenan Allen.

A lot of times in this pick range, I like to take a bit more risk. If you are unlike me, though, and want someone who is going to put up solid numbers (barring injury), you can’t get much more solid than Keenan Allen.
