Lamar Jackson Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors

Lamar Jackson is one of the most interesting players in fantasy football this season. Since his MVP 2019 season, Lamar Jackson has gotten worse in every season after that. Worse, his health has been awful the last two years.

Lamar’s poor pedigree score is not only due to not playing. He also has had decreasing points per game in the games he did play. So, while the 3.5/10 pedigree score does perhaps understate Lamar’s actual pedigree, the fact that he hasn’t done it in 2 years should scare you.

This fact is reflected in Lamar’s atrocious 1.5/10 trend score. If you look at Lamar’s game-by-game performance from last year, you’ll see why he earned this score. Weeks 2 and 3 last year he scored 80 fantasy points. After that point, his average dropped down closer to about 15 points per game, a level which was actually unstartable.

Lamar’s consistency score is just the icing on the cake. Because he can’t stay on the field, his consistency score is low to begin with. Also because of his 2 huge, explosive games to start the season last year, his game-to-game variance is also large. 3.5/10 at the QB position is a really bad consistency score.

So now we come to the consensus ranking of Lamar Jackson. Giving Lamar Jackson an 8/10 for consensus means that he is ranked the 5th best quarterback in the league. Typically you would want that backed up with either elite recent performance or a super positive recent trend. Lamar has neither of these. That should scare you.

Lamar Jackson Stats Analysis

The one thing the Ravens did do this year is add some more quality receivers to fill out a pretty bad group. They signed Odell Beckham Jr. They also drafted Zay Flowers, one of the most exciting prospects and interesting fantasy options of the year.

Perhaps most importantly, Lamar Jackson finally got the payday he has been hoping for (well, not exactly the one he hoped for). If Lamar can’t return to near his MVP level this year, then I don’t know if he ever can.
