Michael Pittman Jr Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors

Michael Pittman Jr is one of those guys that you either love or hate this year. It is hard to be in the middle on him. Most people think he’ll have a pretty down year. But most people also think that his value at his draft pick is about right.

Let’s start with the pedigree score for Michael Pittman Jr. He gets a 6/10 pedigree score which is a high end WR3. Most of this is driven by his nice 2021 season where he put up 1100 yards.

In 2022, though, Michael Pittman took quite a step backwards. I know the Colts were an absolute disaster of a team last year, but they aren’t going to be any better this year. Because of the big step back he took going from 2021 to 2022, he earns a 3/10 trend score.

One bright spot for Pittman is his consistency. In the last two seasons, Michael Pittman Jr has only missed 2 games. He sees the field a lot and gets a lot of opportunities. And even if he doesn’t have a lot of monster games, he has fewer duds. He earns a really nice 8.5/10 consistency score.

The experts have given Michael Pittman Jr. a 6/10 consensus score. This represents an expectation of performance around the mid WR3 range. This has Pittman as basically the last wide receiver that starts every week in most fantasy leagues. I would be a bit wary of putting even that much value on him, though. His trend score indicates that he will probably be closer to 2022 than 2021 which would have him maybe 10 spots back.

Michael Pittman Jr Stats Analysis

The Colts are a big time yikes this year. I think Anthony Richardson is worth watching and worth taking a shot on in fantasy this year. But that isn’t because of his prowess as a passer, it is because of his athleticism and likelihood of a lot of rushing work.

The super raw QB is likely to dramatically impact his receiving corps. Rookie QBs almost never support good fantasy receivers. There is data on this. I tihnk Michael Pittman Jr is an extremely risky pick this year.
