For these reasons, I actually think Freiermuth is trending better than his 3.5/10 score indicates.

Pat Freiermuth had good not great draft stock and a relatively pedestrian rookie season. Last year looked promising but the lack of touchdowns really hurt Freiermuth’s chances at a big season. This leads to a 3.5/10 pedigree score.

The strongest category for Pat is his consistency. He has played all but 1 games so far in his career and has had consistent targets and performance all the while doing it, A 7/10 is someone you can trust week-in, week-out.

Overall, the expert consensus ranking for Pat Freiermurth is a 5/10. This is in the back half of the top 12 tight ends, but still good enough to start every week. He will be a solid roster slot with potential for tons of upside and very little downside risk.

The question is really all about Kenny Pickett. The Steelers really think he is their QB of the future.While Pickett’s rookie season wasn’t earth shattering, there were glimpses of him turning into a decent passer.

If Kenny Pickett takes another step forward this season, look for him to rely on the reliable Pat Freiermuth to soak up lots of targets. The same can be said for Najee Harris, it all depends on Kenny.
