Terry McLaurin Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors
Terry McLaurin has been even steven throughout the Commanders search for an answer at QB. He has fallen short of 1,000 yards only once and that was his rookie season which was mildly shortened by injuries. He still put up 900 yards.
McLaurin earns a very solid 6.5/10 pedigree score due to his successes in the past. He finished WR24 in 2021 and WR14 in 2022. He certainly has the pedigree of a receiver who should finish as a high end WR2. The rest of his stats agree.
Even better for McLaurin is his consistency stat. Not only does he play basically every game, but he plays a really high snap percentage too. And, because he is a big yards receiver and doesn’t rely on touchdowns as much for points, his game-to-game variance tends to be smaller.
Terry McLaurin has an ever so slightly below average trend score. The 4.5/10 is within rounding error of “he has stayed just as good as always at every point over the last two years”. He isn’t getting better, nor is he getting worse.
All wrapped up, McLaurin gets a really solid 7/10 expert consensus score. For a guy currently being drafted as a back end WR2, the 7/10 consensus is a hint he might be undervalued.
Terry McLaurin Stats Analysis
The big question mark for McLaurin is how good (or not) Sam Howell will be and what this means for McLaurin. We have a data point! Sam Howell played week 18 last year. In that game McLaurin saw 6 targets for 3 catches, 75 yards, and a touchdown. Even taking the touchdown out this is not a bad performance.
And let’s not pretend McLaurin benefited from great QB play in the past. As I mentioned earlier, McLaurin has been able to succeed basically no matter what. I think he should be fine, but it can always be concerning to grab a receiver when the QB is very suspect.
