Najee Harris Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors
After his rookie campaign, Najee Harris was touted as arguably the most valuable asset in dynasty leagues. He was young and had a monster rookie season. Then, those who drafted him last year were largely disappointed.
Still, on the back of his dominant rookie campaign, Najee Harris has earned a 9/10 pedigree score. I like to interpret this number as “if he finished a top 3 RB, I wouldn’t really be that surprised”.
One of Najee’s best aspects is his consistency. Remember we measure consistency by time on the field as well as by variance in fantasy production. As one of the true workhorse backs in the NFL, Najee Harris gets a ton of touches. This leads to a ton of opportunities and the ability to finish in the top tier of running backs.
The biggest knock on Najee Harris is his trend score. A 4/10 indicates a slight decrease in performance over the last 2 seasons. For a third year guy, you would really hope for something at 6+ for trend, so the 4 is a bit concerning.
All of these factors combine to give Najee Harris an 8/10 consensus score. He is currently being drafted around RB14. However, if Najee’s workload can stay high, the only place for him to go is up.
Najee Harris Stats Analysis
Most people think Najee absolutely fell off a cliff last year. He actually didn’t, his volume did (kind of). HIs yards per carry went down only 0.1. His yards per target stayed roughly the same, too. But his rushing volume dropped 10% while receiving work closer to 40%.
Betting on Najee Harris this year isn’t about whether he is a good player. It is a bet on what his volume will be.
