Devonta Smith might have one of the most consistent four factors profiles I’ve seen. All of his stats come in between a 7 and an 8. This is headlined by the highest of the four, his 8/10 consensus ranking. This type of ranking corresponds to a player being drafted right around WR12 which is where Smith tends to go.

Though his sophomore campaign was incredibly strong, with a WR9 finish, his rookie campaign was a bit weaker. This is especially true when compared to his draft location. Having only the one really good year leads to Smith’s good but not overwhelmingly great 7/10 pedigree score.

Complimenting this pedigree score nicely is Smith’s 7.5/10 trend score. This score indicates that Devonta Smith has gotten demonstrably better as time has passed over the last 2 years. Not only did Devonta Smith make a big jump in total stats from 2021 to 2022, he also noticeably improved towards the end of last year.

Finally, Devonta Smith has been very consistent and should be expected to remain so. Because the WR depth chart behind Smith and AJ Brown is very thin, Devonta Smith stays on the field for lots of snaps. Moreover, because his performance isn’t predicated on huge games, his consistency has been pretty good.

Devonta Smith Stats Analysis

The only thing that could scare me about drafting Devonta Smith is the rest of the Eagles’ offense. Their offense was very healthy last year. I am not predicting regression to the mean, but this may have caused over performance from the two receivers.

I don’t think this is a real concern, though it is something to think about. I think the consistency of Devonta Smith’s play and his trend, consensus and pedigree scores all sitting in the 7-8/10 range lead to Devonta Smith being a very solid pick this year.
