Dak Prescott Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors

Dak Prescott had one of the more surprising 2022 seasons of fantasy quarterbacks. He had a huge breakout season in 2020, his fifth year in the league. However, the last two years he “came back down to earth”, closer to his pre-2020 levels. Because his last two seasons were good, not great, he earns a 7.5/10 pedigree score.

The trend for Dak has not been very good, though. Since 2020, his per game fantasy points has come down nearly 40% – about 25% by 2021 and another 15% the next year. This downward trajectory has resulted in Dak Prescott not having a very strong trend score.

This continued downward trend combined with 2 years of sub-elite performance has left Dak Prescott in an interesting position in the consensus rankings. Dak is going roughly 10th in drafts this year. He is solidly on the border separating “guys that could end up top 3” and “guys with huge question marks that could end anywhere between 6 and 30”. 

One bright spot for Dak Prescott though is his consistency. Quarterbacks overall are more consistent than regular players, so the 9/10 score Dak earned isn’t overwhelmingly awesome. But it is still a good score, putting him in the top 15 of players we considered for consistency. 

Dak Prescott Stats Analysis

One of the more interesting things about Dak Prescott this year is his actually quite good receiving corps. This offseason, the Cowboys added Brandin Cooks. I will beat the Brandin Cooks drum louder than anyone. In seasons where he hasn’t been injured, Cooks has eclipsed 1000 yards every single time. That is crazy.

Combined with a bona fide stud in CeeDee Lamb and an also good Michael Gallup, there are tons of options on the Cowboys offense. If there is a season for Dak to make a resurgence, he has the tools to do so this year.
