Daniel Jones Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors

Daniel Jones has been an interesting guy his whole career. His rookie season was actually pretty impressive. HIs sophomore campaign in 2020 was abysmal. Ever since, he has been crawling his way back and last year, finally, he returned to form and had the best fantasy year of his career.

Daniel Jones finished at a very impressive QB9 last year, a huge improvement of 2021’s QB27 finish. Because his 2021 was so atrocious, Daniel Jones pedigree score is still only a 4/10.

Daniel Jones does have a very nice trend score, at 6.5/10. The improvements he made last year were very good for his fantasy profile. Here’s the thing: he didn’t just have a flukey season with high TD and low INT. The improvement came from way, way more rushing work. That is the kind of thing that a coaching staff will likely continue to do so Daniel Jones improvement from last year is probably going to stick.

His consistency score is respectable, though not terribly impressive for a quarterback. However if we only look at the stats from last year, he was incredibly consistent. Most of his loss in the consistency category came from missing significant time in 2021.

All this combines to give Daniel Jones a 5/10 pedigree score, roughly equivalent to QB11 or so.

Daniel Jones Stats Analysis

The biggest problem with Daniel Jones this year is his price. Last year, he was a huge value because he was drafted super late but finished as a backend QB1. This year, though, you have to pay the QB1 price to get Daniel Jones. This might be a hard pill to swallow.

There is still some room for overperformance. A few of the guys in front of Daniel Jones have question marks (Lamar, Deshaun, etc.) and his rushing work might let him pass a player like Dak Prescott or Justin Herbert. Still, there is also room for regression for Daniel Jones this year if his rushing work goes back to its normal levels.
