Mark Andrews Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors

Lets start with the pedigree. Two years ago, Mark Andrews finished as THE best tight end in fantasy. He bested Kelce’s performance by 10-15%. Last year, he was a touch worse and finished as the TE5.

He disappointed a lot of folks last year because, though he finished TE5, he still sported a TE2 price tag.The TE2 price tag came from his 2021 performance which is the majority of the reason for Mark Andrews having a 9.5/10 pedigree score.

Last year, Mark Andrews may have been a victim of the Ravens depleted offense. With Lamar and Dobbins both missing extended periods due to injury, Andrews was the only guy left to cover. Now, this didn’t stop him from doing his thing, but it did stop him from being as effective. This resulted in a 2/10 trend score.

One positive for Andrews is his 6/10 consistency score. That means he was a bit above average in consistency. Remember that consistency for us is a mixture of opportunities (snap %) and variance across games. It is possible that Mark Andrews could have decreased consistency if Likely starts to take more and more snaps.

All in all, the expert consensus isn’t really scared of Mark Andrews negatives. He sits at an 8.5/10 consensus score. This number is comfortably below his lofty 9.5/10 pedigree ceiling, but this discrepancy is readily explained by the poor trend score.

Mark Andrews is and should be the TE2, but he might be one of those picks that you don’t feel good making.

Mark Andrews Stats Analysis

There is no doubt that Mark Andrews is really, really good. But I worry how much he benefited from being the guy in Baltimore. In the last year or two, Baltimore has really tried to build out their receiving threats. Last year, they added Likely as a second TE. This year they added Odell and an exciting Zay Flowers.

If Andrews volume goes down in response to the increase in number of threats, he could easily fail to live up to his expensive TE2 price tag.
