Travis Kelce Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors
Travis Kelce is probably the easiest fantasy player to analyze (except perhaps his teammate Patrick Mahomes). He has been the TE1 for the last few years and will be the TE1 again this year barring injuries. But lets see if the four factors methodology can provide a little more info other than “Kelce good”.
Let’s start with the trend category . Kelce actually has a very slightly negative trend over the last two seasons. The 4.5/10 trend score is below average indicating that his trend is slightly below average for the top 150 players.
However, a 4.5 is so close to 5, a neutral or NO trend, that it is barely perceptible. Kelce was better in 2022 than he was in 2021, which creates an upward trend. However, for the last 6 games in 2022 Travis Kelce didn’t produce much. This is why his trend is the way it is. Though I think it is likely that the Chiefs had done what they needed to early in the season so Kelce could coast.
Even better, Travis Kelce has a really nice consistency score at 7/10. This is a product of Kelce rarely getting hurt – he has played 15 or 16 games in every season since he was a rookie – and of Kelce actually having consistent performance week to week.
We don’t really need to talk too much about Kelce’s pedigree and consensus scores. Travis Kelce is great and has been in the past, that is why he gets a 9.5/10 pedigree score.
We also expect Kelce to be very good yet again this year, which is why he earns a 9/10 consensus score. The only reason this number isn’t higher is the comparative value between wide receivers and other players. But make no mistake: Kelce is, was, and shall be the TE1.
Travis Kelce Stats Analysis
It seems like every year, the Chiefs bring in new weapons and everyone wonders whether or not they will become an elite option just by virtue of being on the same field as Mahomes.
A few years ago it was Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Last year it was Marquez Valdes-Scantling and JuJu. This year its Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, and others. At the end of the day though, the only player ever able to run with Kelce was Tyreek Hill. This offense is Kelce’s until we hear otherwise.
