Justin Fields Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors
Justin Fields is where quarterbacks start to get interesting this year. Before Fields, everyone is a blue chip prospect, a guy that has to and will succeed (with the possible exception of Lamar). Justin Fields is the first guy where the coin could land either way. And this is why he has a 7/10 consensus score.
His pedigree is a bit lower, but that is mostly because of his fairly putrid rookie campaign. While Fields only took a slight step forward in the passing game last year, his rushing game hit new levels in 2022. His poor 2021 is why his pedigree lags his consensus at 6/10.
Justin Fields’ consistency score looks middle-of-the-pack at 5.5/10. But if you compare Fields against other quarterbacks going around his draft pick, for example Joe Burrow, then you’ll see that 5.5/10 for a QB is really poor. Quarterbacks are supposed to be consistent, FIelds has not been up to where we would like.
Finally, Justin Fields’ most exciting four factor is his trend score. Fields’ trend score is a very solid 8.5/10 indicating near best-in-the-NFL improvement over the last 2 seasons. It is for this reason that many, many people are stoked about the possibility of drafting Justin Fields.
If anyone is going to have a Jalen Hurts-like breakout campaign this year, it is Justin Fields. He could be an absolute league winner this year. And luckily, he won’t be a league loser at his cost.
Justin Fields Stats Analysis
What you think about Justin Fields fantasy profile this year and going forward is entirely dependent on where you think he is in his career arc. If he is on the upswing, then the sky truly is the limit. If he is on the upswing, then maybe his season this year will be somewhere between Lamar and Jalen Hurts.
If you think he’s started to plateau, then that is OK too because he is being drafted right around where he finished last year, QB 6 or so. Personally, I use Justin Field’s 8/5/10 trend score as evidence of him getting better still. How much more is the big question for me. Very interesting pick.
