Evan Engram Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors

Evan Engram switched teams last year to the Jaguars away from the Giants. Engram was always a fascinating player. His draft pedigree was pretty good being a late first round pick. But on the Giants he never really excelled. He has been good and always fantasy relevant, but never elite.

Last year he quietly had arguably the best season of his career. He had the most yards and the second most touchdowns he ever tallied. Even better for speculation purposes, Engram’s performance had a really strong positive trend to end the season. In his first 7 weeks last year, he never broke 7 points. But in his last 11 weeks his targets increased dramatically. This resulted in a strong 8.5/10 trend score.

Overall though, Evan Engram’s pedigree is still below average. His 4.5/10 pedigree score reflects the fact that his 2021 season was very poor. Even his 2022 season turned out only OK because of his slow start. Engram has shown flashes, but has never had a great season.

Evan Engram has also been fairly inconsistent. Last year he had a few monster games and even more absolute duds. The year before that he missed some significant time. These combine to a 3.5/10 consistency score.

Finally, Evan Engram has earned a 4.5/10 in the consensus category. Typically players with high trend scores will have a consensus above their pedigree. Engram’s consensus equals his pedigree even though his trend is very positive. This indicates that perhaps Evan Engram is being undervalued this year. It can be hard to tell, though, with such small sample sizes.

Evan Engram Stats Analysis

The Jaguars are a very interesting team this year. They certainly have no shortage of offensive talent. Trevor Lawrence started looking like the player he was expect to be. Christian Kirk had a nice breakout season last year. Etienne did as well.

The Jaguars also brought in Calvin Ridley who is returning from a gambling suspension. The biggest question is not whether the Jaguars offense will be good. Rather, the question is whether Evan Engram will have to take a backseat to the other productive players on the offense.
