Kirk Cousins Fantasy Fantasy Football Four Factors

Kirk Cousins might be the most consistently underrated quarterback in the NFL. This is probably because he has always just missed the elite tier of fantasy football quarterbacks. But he has always been in that next tier down. He just hasn’t been a fun pick. This year, he is solidly a no risk, medium reward guy.

Let’s start with Kirk Cousins’ pedigree because it is his most underappreciated stat. Kirk Cousins tallies a 7.5/10 pedigree score. Last year, in 2022, he finished as the overall QB7. The year before he was the QB13. He has the ability to be a backend QB1. He could even top out in the QB 6-7 range depending on how the season goes for the Vikings.

Kirk Cousins has also been extremely consistent. Though our metrics only take into account 2 years, he has been a virtual lock for 4000 yards and 25-30 TDs since 2015. You like that?

The only slight negative is that Kirk Cousins had a slight decrease in his fantasy points per game last year. His production dipped by about 1 point largely due to an increase in INTs and a decrease in TDs. This led to a slightly below average 4/10 trend score.

Overall, though, the experts are pretty low on Kirk Cousins this year, giving him a 4.5/10 consensus score. Typically with a consensus score that much lower than a pedigree score, you would expect a terrible trend score. Or, you would expect a huge change in the surrounding team. But Cousins and the Vikings have largely stayed the same. BUY?

Kirk Cousins Stats Analysis

A lot of fantasy assets rely on Kirk Cousins’ success this year. Justin Jefferson is being drafted as the WR1 overall. There are huge expectations for TJ Hockenson. Alexander Mattison is being seen as a late value with the departure of Dalvin Cook.

While most folks think the Vikings record will regress from last year, the offense looks to be really good. This could be another big year from Kirk Cousins and he will likely be underdrafted relative to where he finishes. Again.
